Tierra Group Hires Quality Assurance Expert

Pompano Beach, Fla – August 30, 2023. Tierra Group, a provider of assured geoscience solutions, has hired Thomas Knox as its Director of Quality Assurance. In this new role, Knox will be responsible for environmental permitting, assessment, regulatory compliance, engineering, and risk evaluation documents and deliverables to government agencies.

“Tom Knox will be a valuable addition to our team, providing hands-on experience in several ways that support our core business,” said Scott Zednek, president of Tierra Group. “He will be involved in many hazard identification and risk mitigation projects that are paramount to our wide range of clients in the fields of power generation and distribution, healthcare, and transportation.”

This is not Knox’s first experience with Tierra Group. He previously served as project manager and geologist between 2011 and 2017 where he worked on a variety of geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, remediation projects, and regulatory compliance assignments for clients ranging across residential, government, commercial, utilities, and industrial settings. His background includes subsurface investigations and contaminant remediation for soil and groundwater impacts as well as air quality assessments.  Before Tierra, he was an environmental scientist for GLE Associates, performing inspections for asbestos at Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) sites. After attending the University of Miami, Knox holds a Geosciences degree from the University of Southern Maine along with many industry qualifications. His educational background, which includes student work in the Caribbean, Florida, and New England, will be valuable in his new role at Tierra Group.
